Update  07/08:  Brought one of my vehicles for a safety inspection prior to a long road trip.  Found problems with an Oxygen sensor, rear brakes, and dirty oil.  Performed all repairs and waived the cost of the safety inspection.   A pretty good deal considering what others charge.

I never come here for gas, but they sell lottery tickets, so it's perfect for that.  Staff is very friendly.

The parking lot can be a nightmare, but I totally agree with Courtney P. when it comes to their mechanics.  Even though I no longer work in Foster City, I keep going to this Arco because the mechanics are always helpful.  The work is always done on time and I never get the "you need a new blah blah blah" speech unless it's necessary.  Been going there for the past 4 years and have never had a problem with any of the two cars we've had serviced.

closes at 11 pm
parking lot is always crazy and the people can't even drive

I'll admit that it's not the best gas station to go to in the area and hard to get to, BUT I will sing many many praises of their mechanics, which make up for the gas station's flaws. They are quick, efficient and honest. I've had many an oil change there, as well as other routine maintenance on two subsequent cars I've owned.

I went in yesterday and they repaired a tire and tightened the engine belt, all under two hours and for a good price.

I work kitty corner from this station, so I'm biased in saying that it's convenient. Even though the mechanics close up at 5ish, I can pick up my car any time the station is open.

This station is located on the south-west corner at the intersection of Hillsdale and Edgewater. It is tiny (8 pumps) and packed during the morning and dinner rushes. Entering is easy but exiting after a fill up requires blocking the pedestrian walkway to see oncoming traffic.

This station also has a mini-convenience store that stocks the usual stuff.

Like other Arco locations, this one doesn't accept credit cards for gas purchases and charges a fee for ATM card purchases.
