The Bates Motel of cafes....
Aah..where do I begin - the nauseous smell of Clorox with microwaved pre-frozen chicken ?
The weird owner / manager?
The eerie music that horror films are made of?
The Raging Cajun sandwich is not too bad. It's the only one I dared to try.
I have been there twice, out of desperation when I didn't have food from home and didn't feel like driving.
Stay clear of the "clear" soups and others...
I do feel bad for the owners. They want to make it work.
But they have bad location and bad food on their side.
I wish them luck
Pros:
-Portofino Sandwich [thin sliced ham, cream cheese blended with pesto sauce on sliced sourdough topped with tomato]
-Decent chips selection
-Soda Fountain (Medium sized cups have ample room)
-They will toast your bread upon request
-Standard tuna salad on toasted sourdough is perfect
-Double stamp-card Fridays (10 stamps and you get a free one!!)
-Never too busy inside
-Lovely outdoor seating
-Location is great (The only lunch (or breakfast place for that matter) for businesses on that side of marsh road in MP
Cons:
-The croissant-wich I got once was mildly warm, cheese not melted and the bacon was soggy, haven't tried the B-fast since
-They won't accept a debit card on Fridays only (?!)
-They run out of lunch stuff before 2 PM so if you are a late-luncher like me, just remember you may have to settle for your 2nd or 3rd choice.

Good place to pop into for lunch, if you are in the area. They have a good selection of sandwiches and salads, as well as one or two hot daily specials. They are also open for breakfast if you are running late. The staff is friendly and they always have a few magazines laying on the counter if you are eating solo. There's not much else on the Bay side of the Marsh Road exit off 101, but still would be worth going to if there were.
Update: I've kicked this down a couple stars. Last week when I was there for lunch, I saw the owner eyeballing the one employee as he left the front, then he lifted a couple bucks out of the tip jar. Dreadful. They will never get my business again.
